Where is The Best Place To Stay in Prague?
The best area to stay in Prague for the first time
In my opinion, the historical Old Town and charming Lesser Town (Mala Strana) are the best neighborhoods to stay in during your first Prague visit due to their central location. You will be a stone’s throw away from the major tourist sites such as Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and Prague Castle. I don’t see a point of staying in other areas if you can afford to stay in the historical center since you will be commuting there anyway.
However, I know that accommodations in those areas can be expensive, so we will also provide some affordable options and budget-friendly alternatives.
Old Town or Lesser Town - which one is the best for your Prague vacation?
First-timers often struggle to choose between Old Town and Lesser Town when visiting Prague. Personally, I find both areas stunning and worth staying in, but I will give you a local tip that might help you decide: Lesser Town is best enjoyed in late spring, summer, and early autumn when the gardens are open and in full bloom. Old Town, on the other hand, is perfect for a cold-weather getaway, making it an excellent choice if you’re visiting Prague in late autumn, winter, or early spring. Another key difference is that Old Town is livelier and better suited for partygoers and shopping enthusiasts, while Lesser Town is more quaint and serene, ideal for couples seeking a romantic retreat.
I am sure now it will be easy for you to decide, so here is a complete breakdown of the best hotels in Prague.
