St. Vitus Cathedral is the largest and the most important church in Prague. Its construction took almost 600 years and if there is any place in Prague packed with symbols, it is this cathedral. On the tour, you will see the famous Alfons Mucha window, the tomb of St Wenceslas, Charles IV., and many other Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. You will also see where the Crown of St. Wenceslas, the fourth oldest surviving crown in Europe, is stored.
Old Royal Palace is one of the oldest still standing structures in the city of Prague, at least its 12th-century ground floor. Aside from being very interesting architecturally, it is also the place where the Second Prague Defenestration took place. We will see the window which started the 30 Years Was in Europe on this tour.
The Basilica of St. George is a stunning example of how many architectural changes Prague went through. Its bases are Romanesque, its side parts are gothic, the ceiling is a 19th-century copy if its Renaissance predecessor, and its front piece is Baroque. We will enter this oldest still-standing church in Prague on this tour.
The tour will finish in Prague’s most magical place - the Golden Lane, where according to legends alchemists were transmuting metals to gold and where Franz Kafka wrote some of his stories.
